I am thrilled to return to Pearl River Glass Studio Gallery to exhibit my newest body of work, Wild Domesticity. Like many women, I straddle different worlds. A devoted hiker and lover of the outdoors, I am drawn to the wild randomness of nature. At the same time, as a mother and home-lover, I ground myself in the creation of eclectic spaces, a love of cooking, and a talent for sewing. After discovering boxes of my grandmother’s unused quilt pieces, I was inspired to incorporate fabric into my expressive landscape paintings. This sense of coziness, juxtaposed with my energetic painting style, brings to canvas my natural inclination toward something I call “wild domesticity.”
